Beginner Quilt & Hand Quilting

Have an interest in learning to quilt? This is the class for you! This project incorporates traditional quilting techniques from beginning to end in a stress free environment. There will be four (4) classes, where each class will discuss and demonstrate the specific steps of the quilting process.

Goal: The participants shall gain knowledge on the following topics:

Week 1 -Saturday March 3rd 2018
-Reading Patterns
-Cutting Accurately
Sewing Scat 1/4" during block assembly

Week 2 -Saturday March 10th 2018
-Sandwich the quilt top, batting and backing
-Basting the layers
-Hooping quilt
-Marking quilt top
-Start hand quilting

Week 3 -Saturday March 17th 2018
-Learn the technique of hand quilting

Week 4 -Saturday March 24th 2018
-Finish hand quilting
-Prepare quilt binding
-Apply quilt binding
-Show off your completed sample!!!

Time: 10am until 4pm - each session
Skill Level: Beginner
Kit Fee: $35.00 (one time fee)
Instructor Fee: $20.00 per class

Class requirements: sewing machine with extra needles, thread, extra bobbins, rulers and rotary cutter, cutting mat, pencil or marking tool, pin cushion, sewing supplies, pins, and scissors.  (Ironing board & irons are provided)
